Dr. Dai Kubota is engaged in clinical practice at a high-volume center for gastrointestinal endoscopic treatment. Clinically, he is involved in research on endoscopic diagnosis and treatment. In the field of basic and epidemiological research, he has consistently studied factors related to the onset of Barrett’s Esophagus (BE) and early Esophageal Adenocarcinoma (EAC). Notably, he conducted comprehensive gene expression analysis using early EAC, elucidated its characteristic gene expression profiles, and obtained his degree. In addition, he presented an epidemiological study on risk factors for BE in Japan at the Japan Digestive Disease Week (JDDW) 2022, where he received the Best Presenter Award in the International Session. The findings were disseminated globally through an English report (Kubota D, et al. Digestion. 2022;103(6):411-420). After obtaining his degree, he has continued his research on BE and early EAC onset. He currently affiliated with the Next-generation Endoscopic Computer Vision, Graduate School of Medicine, The University of Tokyo, which is funded by AIM. In this role, he is also engaged in research developing AI for assisting with endoscopic image diagnosis.
